I need help on how to change my truck starter?

is there a site that has pictures or diagrams on how to change my 96 chevy silverado starter?I need help on how to change my truck starter?
ok ,disconnect the negative battery terminal.the starter is located on passenger side visable above the tire.if you can get to it without taking off the tire is is safer if not remove the tire and support the vehicle on jack stands.be very careful as it could fall.remove the electrical wires from the starter be sure to rember where they go. remove the two bolts that secure the starter. remove the starter and compare it to the new one to insure it is the right one.install the new starter replace any shims that were on the old one (probly not any)replace the wires reconnect the negative battery terminal and your done!

One of the best resources I have found for vehicle maintenance is the Haynes collection of books. Step-by-step details, with pictures, of how to do most any project for any vehicle. They can be found at any auto parts store and are very reasonably priced. Hope this helps.I need help on how to change my truck starter?
try going to chilton.com or haynes.com. if that dosent work then go to gm motors .com they have all the diagrams and pictures you will need to look for them.I need help on how to change my truck starter?
Probably not, but there are inexpensive manuals like Chilton's that can help you. Actually the job is pretty easy and straigh forward if you have any mechanical ability at all.

Follow these steps:

1. Diconnect the battery ground cable from the battery

2. Jack the vehicle up at least 18%26quot; and place on jack stands

3. Find the starter under the right rear side of the engine. Disconnect the large cable to the solenoid and then the smaller wire. If there is an additioanl wire tag the two wires as to the location and remove the other one.

Find the two bolts that secure the starter to the bellhousing. They are vertical and there is one on each side. There may be an additional bolt near the solenoid at the other end of the starter. Remove all bolts, ensuring that any shims are retained and their location noted.

4 Reassemble in the reverse order. Connect the battery cable and test before lowering the car.
