I need to change the starter the old starter has already been taken off before i bought the car, so I don't know how how it looked when it was installed. How do I change the starter in a 1996 Chevy Lumina?
The nose cone of the starter goes into the trans. There are 2 bolts for the starter. The wires are simple, the large one goes to the large bolt on the solenoid and the small wires go to the small one that is marked %26quot;s%26quot; on the solenoid. How do I change the starter in a 1996 Chevy Lumina?

the nose on the starter! it goes into the flywheel and make sure the teeth aligns with the teeth on the flywheel then push it in all the way until the bolt holes line up then bolt it up and hook up the wiring harness but make sure the battery is unhooked first. How do I change the starter in a 1996 Chevy Lumina?
First thing you do is raise the vehicle. Support it. Get your new starter, connect the electrical connectors, the connectors are simple to connect, can't screw it up. The whole starter goes up and in, align starter with bolt holes and fasten together. Some may require oil filter to be removed. Some components may have been removed, so look out for them and reinstall.
