How to change the starter in a 2000 Ford Explorer V6?

i need to know where i can find a manual or diagram on how to change the starter in my truck. 2000 ford explorer xls 4x4 v6 automatic. I have been doing yahoo searchs but not coming up with anything helpful. Im better with pictures but can follow directions haha - i know i sound like some dumb girl but really im not just never had to change the starter before and if i can do it myself and save 200+ bux im game! i have the part already too so that helps.... help me pleaseHow to change the starter in a 2000 Ford Explorer V6?

REMOVAL



WARNING: WHEN PERFORMING MAINTENANCE ON THE STARTING SYSTEM BE AWARE THAT HEAVY GAUGE LEADS ARE CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY. MAKE SURE PROTECTIVE CAPS ARE IN PLACE WHEN MAINTENANCE IS COMPLETED.







Disconnect the battery ground cable.

Raise and support the vehicle; refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.

















Remove the starter motor solenoid terminal cover.

















Disconnect the starter wires.

1 Remove the nuts.

2 Disconnect the wires.



















Remove the nut and the starter ground cable.

















Remove the bolt and the starter motor.

INSTALLATION











































Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

First, recheck your test to see if the starter's really bad. Make sure your battery and battery cable connections are good. Make sure the starter solenoid gets battery voltage when you turn the ignition switch to %26quot;start%26quot;. Make sure there's battery voltage at the starter when you try to crank the engine. You may be working on the wrong problem!
