How much it cost to change the starter?

I have Kia Sportage 1998. My mechanic charged me $315. $155 for the part and $160 for the labor. And does it really needs 2.5 hour just to change a starter!!How much it cost to change the starter?

You should just had a friend of yours change it for you for cheaper or get a manual on how to change a starter and do it yourself. How much it cost to change the starter?
$155 for the starter isn't too unreasonable, and 2.5 hours labor could be about accurate, I would have to look up the book hours on it. But I think for having a mechanic do it, you were not scammed, they gotta pay the bills, and this seems like it was a reasonable price. How much it cost to change the starter?
I paid $255 for the starter %26amp; labor in my 1995 Toyota Corolla. It took a little over 2 hours. Sounds like yo're in the ball park and didn't get ripped off.
