I need to change my starter in my 1985 Chrysler LeBaron. I bought a new starter, but we can't even find the old one. Is it behind a panel? Is there a web-site with free information on how to change the starter?Where can I find free information to change my starter - 1985 Chrysler LeBaron?
It sure sounds like you need a mechanic. The starter will be attached to the side of your engine . Its round with a sprocket on top and a couple of wires attached. Follow the red wire from your battery. Auto zone and advanced web sites offer repair instructions. And loan a tool programs. starters are easy to replace. the starter is located toward the back of the engine on the driver's side. There is a selinoid ....follow the positive cable to the selenoid...then on the other side of the selinoid there is a wire of equal size...follow that down to the starter. Hope this helps
