i have not worked on a Taurus as we don't have them in Australia but it will be bolted to the fly wheel housing with 2 or 3 bolts first disconnect the battery earth lead then remove the starer you may have to disconnect the leads from the starter before it comes out or if long enough disconnect when it is out then fit in reverse orderStep-by-step instructions on how to change a starter on a 1992 Ford Taurus?
steps to change a starter are:



1. disconnect battery.



2. disconnect cables from starter.



3. unbolt starter.



Then install is reverse.



1. bolt starter to engine/Transmission



2. connect cables to starter.



3. reconnect battery.

yeah, get a chilton manual. when it's time to change the differential fluid, replace an alternator, or change your brake pads you can refer to it.
