Two bolts. The starter drop out. Fit new one, and connect the cables. Some models have an access hole cut in the back with screws. Happy motoring. How easy is it to change a starter motor?

just a messy job, but I would recommend a repair manual to walk you through this, assuming you have the tools you need. How easy is it to change a starter motor?
No.. because starter motors are positioned right in the middle of the engine.. so it is hard to get to.. your engine has to be disassembled.. just to replace...

Especially as its a Volkswagen.. they build their engines close together so that its hard to get to places but its secure...

Don't try do it yourself, unless your an experienced mechanic... Its a big job...!

very expensive.,..

This is from personal experince, my mechanic replaced on a old car that i owned a few years ago.., VW sharan 2.3.. its costed a lot, it took a lot of time, and it was stressing for the mechanic... I watched him do it.. it is such a complicated process...

Good Luck!! XD!!!!

Hope i could be of your assistance... :)How easy is it to change a starter motor?
