Get a Haynes manual for your car. Easier to read than Chilton and you can get them for just about any car. They have them at Half Priced Books and other bookstores for a lower price but they will tell you just about anything you need to know about your car.How do I change a starter on a 2002 VW Jetta?
If you have to ask this, I wouldn't attempt it. First disconnect the negative to the battery. Then locate the starter, remove wiring and take the two bolts out. You can get a step by step at alldatadiy dot com.
