Why does my solenoid keep going bad?

i have a 91 explorer and i have changed my starter solenoid twice today. the first time i changed it everything worked fine, turned the car off and it started back up just fine. then i go to the store and shuit it off when i came bak out it started again no problems. after i got to the second store shut off and when i came out it wouldnt start the solenoid went bad that fast. why is this happening and how can i fix it.Why does my solenoid keep going bad?
fords are bad about ignition switches going bad.also on full sized ford p/u's i've had to replace the wire that controls the solenoid a couple of times.it breaks in the harness and it's cheaper just to run new wire than finding the break. Why does my solenoid keep going bad?
Your starter might be drawing more current than the solenoid can handle. Replace the starter! Why does my solenoid keep going bad?
Are you sure the solenoid itself was bad?

If the problem is a bad (e.g. intermittent) connection to the solenoid, you'd probably fix it during the replacement but it might go bad again that fast.聽 The only thing which could kill the solenoid itself is a problem with the starter, and I have trouble seeing a way for that to happen.
