Why won't my fuel injected car start?

I recently ran out of gas with a fuel injection engine... After putting in enough fuel to get the vehicle to a filling station to top it off, I tried to start it, but the starter simply cranked without starting the engine. I just had the starter changed about a week ago, so that can't be the problem. Besides the obvious %26quot;Don't let it run out of fuel%26quot; answer (*G*), how do I get the car started back up?Why won%26039;t my fuel injected car start?
What kind of car, or is this a guessing game??? Fuel injected cars usually have 2 fuel lines. One goes to the engine, and the other goes directly back to the tank. There is a fuel filter and a fuel pump in between. In other words, the fuel constantly cycles to the engine and BACK again. Your %26quot;gas%26quot; pedal is really your %26quot;air%26quot; pedal. It only adds air to the fuel already being metered. Listen for your pump in the %26quot;on%26quot; position. If the car should get flooded, you can hold the %26quot;air%26quot; pedal to the floor to help clear it out. SEE???Why won%26039;t my fuel injected car start?
it is possible that you burned up your pump letting it run dry, but try priming the system frist by turning the key to the on position without turning the car over, do this a couple of times then try to start it. listen for the whine of the pump coming on, if it dont start its probably your pump. Why won%26039;t my fuel injected car start?
barring the usual fuse or fuel pump reset//what kind of car are we talking about???Why won%26039;t my fuel injected car start?
Try placing your key to the on position but not trying to crank the car. Listen for your fuel pump to be sending fuel to the injectors. It will sound like a slight hum. Do this 4 or 5 times so that you are sure there is gas in the line. Hope that helps.
